Exhibitions Research and Co-Curation Volunteer at The Living Barracks

What the role will involve

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the understanding, preservation and display of Berwick’s history and culture through artefacts and artworks. Working with Living Barracks staff and volunteers, you will be researching and/or providing creative input into the preparation of exhibitions in the new Berwick museum and in other contexts.

You will be:

  • Finding out information about artefacts and artworks from the Berwick Records Office, King’s Own Scottish Borderers collection and Berwick town museum collection.
  • Contributing to the written interpretation and visual display of artefacts and artworks.

There are opportunities to contribute to both the development of unique temporary exhibitions and permanent displays.

Much of the work is self-guided with support and supervision from Living Barracks staff and volunteers.
