Collections Care Volunteer at The Living Barracks
What the role will involve
Contribute in a hands-on way with the preservation of Berwick’s history and culture as part of the Living Barracks Project.
In this role, you will be assisting in the care, conservation, and documentation of artefacts and artworks from the collections and archives of the Berwick museum, King’s Own Scottish Borderers and Berwick Record Office.
Working with the support and guidance of our friendly Living Barracks Community Engagement and Conservation team, Collections Care Volunteers help to clean, document and re-pack items from the collection ready for future display. By doing so, they play a vital role in preserving Berwick’s heritage.
No experience is needed as our staff members will ensure that you receive training and have the skills you need to contribute confidently and effectively.
You can offer as much or as little time as you wish. Sessions take place each Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30am until 12pm and 1pm – 3.30pm each day agreed in advance with the Community Engagement team
