NCC Meet and Greet Volunteer Libraries
Do you enjoy meeting new people and making others feel welcome? Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community? Northumberland Libraries are looking for friendly and approachable volunteers to join us as Meet and Greet Volunteers across our local library network.
We currently have opportunities at;
Wylam Library; Opening days and times;
Tuesday's and Thursday's- 10:30AM to 12:30PM and 1:30PM to 4:30PM
Prudhoe Library; Opening days and times;
Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Friday's- 9:00AM to 5:00PM
Thursday's- 9:00AM to 6:00PM
Saturday's- 9:30AM to 1:00PM
As a Meet and Greet Volunteer, you’ll be the warm, welcoming face that greets visitors when they arrive. You’ll help create a positive first impression, offer basic information about library services and events, and signpost customers to staff when they need more detailed support. You’ll also help promote our activities and ensure everyone feels included, supported, and confident using the library.
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, gain experience in a customer‑focused environment, and make a meaningful difference to your local community. Full induction and role‑specific training are provided, along with ongoing support from library staff and the Volunteer Coordinator.
