Healthwatch Northumberland - Enter & View + Community Engagement Volunteer
Be a Health & Care Champion in Northumberland
What the role involves
This is our most varied role, allowing you to support your community in three key ways:
- Enter & View Visits: Join a small, friendly team to visit health and care settings (like care homes or GP surgeries). You’ll observe the service in action and chat with patients, residents, and families to hear their stories firsthand.
- Community Engagement: Attend local wellbeing events and public venues to listen to people’s experiences with the NHS. You’ll also help by signposting people to helpful local services (we provide all the resources!).
- Reporting & Insights: Share what you’ve heard and seen with us. Your feedback helps us write reports that go directly to NHS and public health leaders to create real change.
Volunteering that fits your life
- Total Flexibility: Give as much or as little time as you like. Whether you want a regular slot or just to help out at one-off events, the choice is yours.
- Work from Home: Some parts of this role- like sharing feedback and research- can be done from the comfort of your own home in your own time.
No experience? No problem!
You don’t need a background in healthcare to make a difference.
- Full Support: You’ll be part of a supportive team and will never have to work alone unless you want to.
- Full Training: We provide all the training you need. If you do have a specific interest or skill, let us know- we love to put our volunteers' unique talents to use!
Ready to get started? If you’re 16 or over, just click ‘Apply’ and tell us a bit about yourself!
Please note: Because this role involves visiting care settings, volunteers aged 18+ will need to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
