Action Team- Our Flexible Volunteer Network (Training & Event Alerts)

Opportunity image

Didn't find the perfect volunteering role sitting live on our portal today? Don't worry...you can still be part of the team!

The Action Team is our flexible volunteer network. It’s designed for people who want to make a difference in Northumberland but need complete flexibility, or are waiting for the right opportunity to pop up.

By joining the Action Team, you aren't committing to a set schedule or a specific role. Instead, you are joining a community of "on-call" volunteers who get exclusive perks and priority access.

What you get when you join:

  • Free Training: Instant access to our full library of free training courses and qualifications to boost your CV or learn new skills.
  • Priority Event Alerts: Be the first to hear about pop-up community events, campaigns, and short-term projects.
  • No Pressure: Pick and choose. When an event or new role goes live, grab it if it suits you. If it doesn't, just pass!

What you will be doing:

Because this is a flexible network, your "day-to-day" is entirely up to you. When you join, your main activities will be:

  • Keeping an eye on your inbox for our upcoming event and new role broadcasts.
  • Browsing and booking onto our free volunteer training sessions.
  • Stepping up to help out at local community events only when your schedule allows.

Next Steps: Once you click apply, you will be asked to complete your short Volunteer Passport on the Assemble platform.

Please note: Completing your passport is required to unlock your account, open up our free training calendar, and start receiving event notifications! It takes less than 10 minutes

Important Information and Your Consent By applying to join the Action Team network, you are giving your permission and consent for:

  • Partner Organisations to View Your Profile: Approved local charities and community organisations across Northumberland will be able to see your volunteering preferences and location on the portal.
  • Direct Invitations: These organisations can invite you directly to support their upcoming one-off events and short-term activities.
  • Upcoming Session Alerts: We and our partners can send you notifications about upcoming training sessions, workshops, and exclusive flexible volunteering opportunities.

All Messaging Goes Through the Portal: To keep your personal details safe and secure, all correspondence and invitations will go directly through this Assemble portal.

You remain in complete control. While organisations can view your profile and invite you to help via the portal, you are under absolutely no obligation to accept any invite unless it perfectly suits your calendar!
