Education and Studio Support (Northern Butterflies)
There’s so much for you to get stuck in to when you’re volunteering with us. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in education, creativity, and practical skills.
Purpose of the Role: To support tutors in delivering sessions in art, digital skills, maths, and English, while also assisting with administrative tasks, studio maintenance, and horticulture activities. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in education, creativity, and practical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist tutors in art, digital skills, maths, and English sessions.
- Provide 1-2-1 support to learners to enhance their understanding and engagement.
- Support with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, preparing materials, and general organisation.
- Participate in allotment, horticulture, and maintenance activities to support a creative and sustainable learning environment.
- Maintain studio spaces, including hanging and displaying artwork effectively.
- Ensure the learning space is safe, organised, and welcoming for participants.
Skills & Qualities Required:
- Interest or experience in one or more of the following: art, digital skills, maths, English, horticulture, or maintenance.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to support learners effectively.
- Organised and proactive approach to assisting with administrative tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic maintenance skills (e.g., handling tools, hanging artwork, general upkeep).
- Basic understanding of maths and English would be beneficial
Commitment & Location:
- Flexible volunteering hours (to be agreed upon).
- Sessions may be held in classrooms, studio spaces, or outdoor allotments.
It would be ideal if you could volunteer a minimum of one shift a week, which is about four hours but we're also happy to have more flexible times. We provide all the training you’ll need.
