There’s so much for you to get stuck in to when you’re volunteering with us. If you’re interested in helping your community flourish, Northern Learning Trust can provide an opportunity to get involved, and make a positive impact in a variety of ways.

Your responsibilities;

  • To assist the Community Engagement Tutor to plan, implement and maintain the garden landscaping and planting scheme at the Learning Hive

  • To encourage other members of the community to contribute to the running of the garden

  • To assist in the planning and running of Gardening Activity projects

  • To work with other volunteers to identify how the garden can be developed

  • To be flexible in carrying out other activities in the Learning Hive, identified and requested by the Community Engagement Tutor

  • To celebrate learners’ achievements and assist learners to celebrate their achievements.

  • To help learners understand the additional support services available to them and how best to utilise them

  • To attend and participate fully in volunteering support and training sessions

  • To complete any paperwork relevant to the project and make it available as required

  • To understand and follow the volunteer policies and procedures.

  • To identify and communicate your support needs and make effective use of support mechanisms provided

  • To understand and observe the need to maintain confidentiality

  • To treat all people with equal respect
